Central Greece is a part of the country with diverse geology and geomorphology. Its northern part includes the sub-regions of Epirus and Thessaly. Epirus hosting the vineyards of Zitsa and Metsovo, the most mountainous in Greece. Thessaly includes the vineyards of Tyrnavos, Meteora, Messenikola and Anchialos. Heading south, we encounter the wine-producing districts of Fthiotida, Evia, Viotia and Attica. Most of the vineyards of Central Greece are clustered in Attica, which counts about 2,500 hectares.
