PAPAGIANNAKOS WINERY is situated in Markopoulo, eastern Attica, in proximity to the Temple of Artemis, the haunt of Dionysus, the patron saint of wine. The site is located in the heart of Mesogeia wine-growing area, the oldest, and one of the biggest in Greece. Papagiannakos winery was the first in Greece, which was designed and built according to innovative bioclimatic standards. The estate can be visited for tasting the dominant grape varietal of the area, the indigenous Savvatiano, the well-known Malagousia and a new version of the traditional Retsina.
