Opaque ruby colour. Aromas of black fruit, spices, jam, vanilla, coffee and stylish oak. Full, round palate with supporting acidity and fine-grained tannins. Unfiltered wine. Any amount of sediment in the bottle is quite normal.
Traditional Greek sausage 'Sheftalia', spicy Cretan Graviera cheese. Decanted before consumed. Served at 16 - 18 °C.
The privately owned vineyards of 20ha in Kymi & Afrati, Evia, Central Greece.
Altitude: 250-500m. Soil: clay, limestone.
Harvest: September. Yield: 30-40 hl/ha.
Age of vines: 10 years.
Cold skin contact for 3 days, vinification by long skin contact and maturation in new Ermitage oak barrels. Acidity: 5.9 g/L TA, Residual sugar: 2.0 g/L.
