Organoleptic Organoleptic
Inky purple colour. Generous, layered aromas of red and black fruits, bitter chocolate, cinnamon, spiced with hints of licorice and wild mint. On the palate, it is concentrated, with a meaty flavour profile, cherries, vanilla and oak. Smooth texture, round tannins, endless aftertaste. Excellent, modern-style dry mavrodaphne.

A hearty Greek beef stew 'stifado-mosharaki', roasted wild boar. Served at 16 - 18 °C.

The privately owned vineyards in Cephalonia Island.
Altitude: 80-500m.
Soil: limestone, rocky, barren.
Harvest: End of September.
Yield: 30-40 hl/ha. Age of vines: 30 years (average).
Agriculture: Mild.
Vinification Vinification
The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation before being carefully matured for at least 12 months in top quality French and American barriques. The wine is matured for a further 12 months in bottle before release. Acidity: 6.5 g/L TA, Residual sugar: 3.2 g/L.
