Born on the volcanic soil of Santorini, Mavrotragano is a rare indigenous red variety that offers wines of sheer individuality. Vibrant ruby red colour. Exuberant nose with red fruits and notes of vanilla and tobacco. The generous and structured palate shows excellent ageing potential.
Food pairing Food pairing
An excellent pair for Greek roasted lamb and Greek Graviera cheese. Served at 16 - 18 °C.

The vineyards in Santorini Island, Cyclades.
Altitude: Up to 350m. Soil: volcanic and dry.
Harvest: Handpicked, End of August.
Yield: 30 hl/he.
Age of vines: 8 years in average(basket-shaped).
Agriculture: Mild.
Vinification Vinification
Typical red vinification techniques. Maturation in medium toasted 225lt French oak barrels for 12 months. Acidity: 6.0 g/L TA, pH: 3.45, Residual sugar: 2.6 g/L.
