Deep red colour. Aromas of black fruits and spices on the nose. On the palate, flavours of cherry and milk chocolate, with hints of smoke, roasted chestnut and butter. Soft tannins, balanced acidity and intense aftertaste.
Grilled steaks, Greek style pan fried pork chops, traditional Greek 'moussaka', Greek 'Graviera' cheese.
Served at 16 - 18 °C.
The privately owned vineyard in Lakonia, Peloponnese.
Altitude: 250-300m. Soil: clay loam.
Harvest: End of September. Yield: 40-50 hl/he.
Age of vines: 10 years (average).
Pre-fermentation cold soak at a temperature of 8-10 °C for 2-3 days. Fermentation at a controlled temperature of 18 °C, as well as soak after fermentation for a more concentrated, dense fruitiness. Maturation for 12 months in French oak barrels, along with the malolactic fermentation. Acidity: 5.5 g/L TA, Residual sugar: 2.4 g/L.
